ChorusTrainer development begins

June 22, 2013

After delaying the project for too much time I decided to start developing ChorusTrainer
This will be an Android App aimed at Chorus singers
The normal workflow to learn a new piece goes like this:
you get a midi file containing the piece
You play it enhancing (or isolating) the voice specific to your part (in my case bass 2 )
You learn it the usual hard way, no escaping that 🙂
There’s a couple of rough edges though. Sometimes in the piece you have phrases which are quite complex and you would benefit from isolating those phrases and playing them in a loop, possibily manipulating the tempo
Here is where my soon-to-be-groundbreaking-app comes in

The features I’m thinking of are:
handling of midi files (not mp3s)
visual feedback
possibility to loop over a arbitrary phrase

I already started the project on GitHub and I decided for an overall approach to the technical stuff
Wish me luck
