KDE: Kontact , Knode and X-Face

Recently switched to using Kontact instead of Thunderbird
Kontact includes Knode which is a good program for reading newsgroups and also supports X-Face
But there is an integration issue between the two programs: Kontact allows you to select an image that gets converted automatically to X-Face, this is possible for each identity
Knode uses the same configured identity, but does not use the X-Face that may be already present, it just ignores it.
For Knode to use the X-Face you still have to set a custom header, which implies that we must codify the X-Face by hand.
Alternatively, you can retrieve the X-Face by sending a message via kmail using the identity to which we associate the image using kontact settings
Looking at the source of the message there will be a X-Face header and you can simply copy its value. Then you can set the custom header in knode

not very user-friendly
